Abstract

This study focuses on the communicator element, an important part of communication, and discusses President Jokowi's political communication messages in the 2024 Presidential Election. As a communicator, Jokowi uses political messages to encourage the presidential candidates he supports. Jokowi prefers a presidential candidate to lead Indonesia. The problem is Jokowi supports specific presidential candidates even though several participate in this contest. Jokowi's statement contains a message full of meaning. It aims to elaborate on Jokowi's political communication messages during this contestation. Using Aristotle's rhetorical model, it focuses on communicators in conveying political communication messages through language style. The language style uses the Keraf model, namely rhetorical and figurative. This method uses qualitative research with a constructivist paradigm and a literature review approach. The object focuses on the messages and the subject is President Jokowi. This statement was published in the media. The results show that Jokowi's political messages use rhetoric and figurative. Jokowi expresses paradoxical and metaphorical language styles more often than tautology, erotesis, synecdoche, euphemism, and pleonasm. The significance of this research is that Jokowi uses a Javanese-style cultural dimension in conveying political communication messages in the election.
